If it's true, what will happen to Nikon D3 or the new Canon 5D Mk II camera? Are they able to match the sub US$2K pricing?
It's possible, if you ask me.
But.. it won't be the 24mpixel sensor. SONY may be using current Nikon D3 sensor for their A700 upgrade, a Full Frame DSLR with liveview.
We need to wait and see what SONY is going to announce in the next 2 months.
